I wrote him, wanting some time with him. He paid my way out to visit him for a couple weeks. I was in the thick of a documentary project on Dine' land that he was familiar. We focused on such things as physics of light, our impact on the landscape by our mere presence, the essence of love and so forth. My work shifted significantly after time with him. A genius.
